UMN EXTENSION BEEF TEAM AND MN STATE CATTLEMEN’S ASSOCIATION TO HOST 2022 MN SUMMER BEEF TOUR

The University of Minnesota Extension Beef Team and the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association have teamed up to host the 2022 MN Summer Beef Tour, a fun and educational event where attendees will have the opportunity to visit the UMN St. Paul Campus and the MN Zoo. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Stops on the tour include the UMN Andrew Boss Laboratory of Meat Science, UMN College of Veterinary Medicine, and UMN Forage Research plots. Important to note, the tour includes a visit to the MN Zoo where attendees will have exclusive access to the entire zoo from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

IMPORTANT: There will be a charter bus traveling from southwest Minnesota the morning of the tour directly up to the St. Paul campus for anyone wishing to travel that way. Everyone is welcome to ride the bus, and seats are available on a first come, first serve basis**. The cost to ride the bus up and back to the cities is $40 per person, but all 4-H members and their parents can ride the bus at no charge courtesy of Murray and Pipestone County 4-H. To reserve your seat on the bus, please call the Murray County Extension office at 507-836-6927 and state how many seats you would like to reserve.

*A minimum of 28 people must be pre-registered to ride the bus, otherwise the bus will have to be cancelled.

Tickets to attend the tour can be purchased online for $30 per person by visiting z.umn.edu/MNSummerBeefTour. Lunch and supper are included in the ticket cost. Following dinner and time spent at the zoo, the charter bus will depart from the Minnesota Zoo and travel back to southwest Minnesota that same day.
