“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Psalm 147:3 NIV

While the cliché that “time heals all wounds” may not be literally true in every case, it is amazing what a difference a day or two can make. When the wound is an emotional wound, sometimes we get over it quite quickly, in minutes or hours rather than days or weeks. For the wounds that don’t seem to heal, sometimes we must look within and ask ourselves why we are having such trouble getting over them. The rancor that often comes with hurt feelings is something that we may have trouble letting go of, especially if we feel that the person who hurt us deserves our hatred. But we do well to remember that harboring hatred almost always hurts us more than the person we hate. The same is true of anger. Anger and hatred are never overcome with hatred and anger. Only love can do that work. So however bad you’re feeling, realize that it is temporary, and tomorrow will be a new day.
