Passing on Some Tidbits
“When you know His Word— you know His ways,” said the speaker. I was reviewing my notes from a retreat attended a while back and although they are a bit random eclectic, I’d like to share a few gems jotted down. I pray they resonate.
“The Word of God is different because the author became the star and entered the story.”
“If we can admit we aren’t the experts, we can then let Him— His Word—teach us.”
“Jesus calls us to be His disciples and be like Him. We can’t become more like Him unless we spend time with Him.”
“Post modern views are that we put God on trial like He has to justify Himself to us. We become accusers by making accusations about Him. Yet, His answer is still the same. It’s always the same. It’s His cross.”
“Ask Him. ‘What are you asking of me?’” “It’s much better to wrestle with God than to walk away.”
“Sin comes from lack of trust in God.”
“We can’t make your own personal version of God. He asks us to love Him for who He is—not some made up version. He reveals Himself in His Word.”
“Our main goal in life is to become more like Him—following Him by denying ourselves.”
“Don’t make prayer a monologue. The Lord speaks and we need to listen.”
“He’s not a grandfather. He’s our Father.”
“Just because I don’t understand the pain in the moment, does not mean the moment doesn’t have meaning.”
“He’s looking for availability not ability.”
“What does church mean? Church is the sacred assembly of those who come out of the world to assemble in the unity of the Holy Spirit.”
“Biblical meditation isn’t emptying our mind. Rather, it’s filling it with His Word.”
As you ponder these portions, may you be blessed and know that you are not only called— but loved. Amen.
