As one Youth Tour winner explained, “I am grateful to Nobles Cooperative Electric for allowing me the opportunity to attend a truly life changing adventure to Washington, D.C. for the annual Youth Tour. We had the opportunity to hear from countless experienced business men and women within different fields explain their daily lives, how they individually advanced in their leadership positions in their careers, and how they view the future for themselves and this everchanging industry.”
Each year electric cooperatives around the nation sponsor students on a trip to Washington, D.C. The winner will travel with 40 teens sponsored by other Minnesota electric cooperatives June 14 through June 19. They make up part of more than a 1,900-member delegation from around the country. These students will meet their congressional delegations, tour our nation’s monuments and museums, plus learn about electric cooperatives, civic and political responsibilities. It’s an experience not to be forgotten.
Nobles Cooperative Electric is proud to sponsor this contest. It is a once in a lifetime experience where students bring back much more than souvenirs. These trips give local teens exposure to cooperatives and government in action. It is an investment in our youth and our future.
The Youth Tour challenges students to break out of their comfort zone and experience a world they have not seen before—one they would not have experienced had this opportunity not been presented to them.
Nobles Cooperative Electric believes in commitment to community. They provide electric service to 6,900 members in Murray and Nobles Counties.
