The Slayton Kiwanis and various local organizations are working together to welcome newcomers to the Slayton area by handing out a Kiwanis Welcome – a packet of information, coupons, brochures and gifts to welcome newcomers to the area.
Included in the Kiwanis Welcome bag will be brochures on area volunteer organizations, youth opportunities, visitors guides and maps. Businesses, churches and service organizations that would like to be involved can put together small gift packages, discount coupons, punch cards, gift certificates, or anything else they feel represents their business and welcomes people to their neighborhood. This is an opportunity for businesses to bring new customers into their stores or gain new clients.
To participate, contact a Kiwanis member, email slaytonkiwanisclub@ gmail.com or bring the information and items you would like to include to the Murray County EDA office (EDA Coordinator Justine Wettschreck at 507-836-6023) in the Courts Building in Slayton during business hours.
Slayton Kiwanis will distribute Kiwanis Welcome bags several times each year.
In the coming weeks, Kiwanis members will hit the streets to visit with area businesses about participating in the program.
