SLAYTON COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT WITH THE WEST ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL REBEL VOICES

The Slayton Community Band is gearing up to give you a jolt of Holiday Spirit on December 4th at 5:00 PM in the MCC High School Auditorium. Please join us for this fantastic concert featuring the band and guest singers! Singing this year in this joint concert is the West Elementary and High School Rebel Voice singers!

The Slayton Community Band will start the concert with “Fanfare for Christmas” by James Curnow. Then we will intertwine the rest of our repertoire around the Rebel Voice High School and Elementary singers. “A Night in December” arr. by John Higgins, “Holiday Sleigh Ride” by Peter Sivanich, “A Yuletide Holiday” arr. by Roland Barrett, “Three Gifts for Christmas” arr. By Leland Forsblad, “Bell Carol Fantasy” arr. By James Curnow, “A Christmas Spiritual” arr. By David A. Myers, “Season of Peace by Gene Milford, and “Christmas Sing-ALong arr. By James D. Ployhar will all be among the pieces we play.

The West Elementary Voices will be singing Skatin’ and Sleighin’” by Greg Gilpin, “A La Ru, A La Me” by Douglas E. Wagner, “How Many Nights” by Linda Swears, “Believe” arr. By Mark Hayes, and “The Bells of Christmas Medley” (that incorporates all our favorite bell songs) arr. By Greg Gilpin. The West Elementary Rebel Voices choir is a voluntary choir made up of 32 students in grades 5 and 6 directed by Ms. Kaitlin Cole.

The High School Rebel Voices have really been busy this last month getting music ready for our December engagements! We want to surprise our readers and concert attendees by the repertoire we perform. Please join us December 4th at 5:00 as we kick off this Christmas season! There will be a collection for the food shelf! All are welcome to attend!
