SLAYTON CITY COUNCIL MET SLAYTONA BEACH WEST TO GET NEW WATER FEATURE

The Slayton City Council met in regular session on Monday, April 7, 2025 with all council members present except Blake Heronimus. They began by approving the agenda with two additions. They also approved the minutes from the regular meeting on March 17, 2025 and the Special (Electric Utilities) meeting on April 3, 2025, as corrected.

The next item of business was to approve the claims for March 31, 2025 and April 7, 2025. City Administrator Josh Malchow explained that Northwest Natural Gas will be splitting the expenses involved with the election process, ie: printing of postcards, payment of judges, etc.

Going on to new business, the Council approved the purchase of an AquaZip’N pool feature for the Slaytona Beach West. This is a budgeted for the 2025 year.

Currie Town and Country requested a gambling permit at the Slayton Country Club. They plan to have pull tabs out at the golf course. This was approved.

Slayton Smoke Shop dba Central Smoke requested a tobacco license for their new location in downtown Slayton. This was also approved.

Lastly, the Council received and approved the amended Murray County 2025 Ambulance agreement.
