SLAYTON CITY COUNCIL DISCUSS THE OFFER TO XCEL IN CLOSED SESSION

The Slayton City Council met on Monday June 3rd. All Council members were present. They approved the agenda as well as the minutes from the May 20th meeting.

They next received an update on the swimming pool. It has received its new sealant and is now filled. Lifeguard training was completed this week and the pool is also fully staffed for the summer.

City Administrator, Josh Malchow, gave the council an update on the Maple Avenue Project. They started paving on June 3rd. There’s a possibility of being wrapped up by the end of the week, weather permitting. Then restoration after that. The 28th Street project is also on track to be completed soon.

The council went into closed session to discuss the offer they will be submitting to Xcel Energy on behalf of the City of Slayton. Coming out of closed session, a motion was made to authorize the City’s Attorney and City Staff to author the offer as discussed in closed session. They anticipate submitting the offer by the end of the week and hearing back from Xcel within 30 days.

With no other business the meeting was adjourned.
