The Slayton Community Band will be performing at Gullord Park on Thursday, June 27 at 7:00 PM. All concerts are FREE and open to people of all ages. Gabe Gleis will be singing the National Anthem. Gabe was the VFW Local and State winner in the VFW “Red, White, and Blue” National Anthem singing contest in 2023.
We will be starting off our concert honoring those that have served in the military with the new United States Space Force Hymn “Into the Blue” and then continuing with the “Marches of the Armed Forces”. We will continue the concert with a “Salute to Louis Armstrong”, some Gershwin pieces, “Classic Cartoon Capers”, a 50’s Medley, and conclude with the audience sing-a-long to “An American Celebration”. Our children’s march is “Ghost Riders in the Sky”. Kids, it is VERY appropriate to wear your cowboy attire to this concert. Bring your boots and hats! Remember to put your name in the box for a chance to win a Hub gift certificate. A different name is drawn every week!
Schaap Sanitation Relay for Life Team will be offering grilled jumbo hotdog, chips, bar and beverage $8 from 5-7 PM.
