At the November 11th Veterans Day banquet program the Slayton American Legion and Auxiliary handed out several continuous years awards to its members. There were members not pictured also. -

The Annual Community Band Christmas Concert will be held on Sunday, December 1 at 3:00 PM at the MCC High School Auditorium. Our special guests this year are the Pipestone Al Opland singers! We will also have singers from the Murray County Central Schools in grades 5-12.
Please set your calendars for a FANTASTIC multi-generational concert that will surely be the most entertaining way to bring in December! We will be starting our concert with a band and choir sing-a-long called “Christmas, Here We Come!” Arranged by Sally K. Albrecht. We will have a variety of music performed by the Community Band, Al Opland singers, and MCC Choirs! We will end our concert with a band, choir, and audience “Christmas Sing-a-Long” Arranged by James D. Ployhar.
The Al Opland Singers are a choral group based in Pipestone, Minnesota, consisting of 20-30 members from the surrounding region perform four shows each season (Christmas & Spring). They will be previewing a few songs from their upcoming Christmas show “Ring in the Season, Rejoice With Song” Dec 5th-8th at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center. Show times are 7:30 Thurs-Sat, with a Sunday matinee at 2:00. Come, enjoy and celebrate the season with the Al Opland Singers.
There will be a free will offering with the money going to the Food Shelf. See you on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend! *In case of inclement weather, please listen to KJOE announcements. The snow/ice date is set for Sunday, December 8 at 3:00 PM!
