The Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting businesses, organizations, families, and individuals to become part of a historic community celebration by sponsoring patriotic banners that will be displayed throughout Slayton in honor of America’s 250th Birthday in 2026.
Working in partnership with the City of Slayton, the Chamber is coordinating the placement of decorative banner flags along Broadway Avenue, Maple Avenue, and Highway 30. The banners will create a festive atmosphere throughout the community and serve as a visible tribute to the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration.
Banner sponsorships are available for $200 each and include personalization with a business name, family name, organization name, or dedication. Sponsors will have the opportunity to showcase their patriotic pride while helping beautify the community for residents and visitors alike.
“We’re excited to create a community-wide display that honors our nation’s history while highlighting the pride we have in Slayton,” said Chamber representatives. “These banners will welcome visitors attending the Murray County Fair and other summer events while serving as a lasting reminder of this once-in-a-generation milestone.”
The City of Slayton will install the banners once they arrive, with installation anticipated by late July or early August, just in time for the Murray County Fair and other community festivities.
Those wishing to have a banner placed near their business or residence are encouraged to submit their sponsorship early. Placement requests will be honored on a first-paid, firstserved basis whenever possible.
The deadline to reserve a banner sponsorship is June 30, 2026.
