The Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the return of the beloved holiday tradition, Light Up Gullord Park, now in its third year! We invite businesses, organizations, and individuals to join us in making Gullord Park shine bright this holiday season by decorating a spot in the park. Last year’s lighting ceremony saw a fantastic turnout, with over 80 cars visiting within the first two hours. Let’s make this year even more magical!
Here are a few details to help you get your display ready: Display Setup: Please bring an extension cord to connect your display to one of the power stakes provided in the park.
Weather-Proofing: To protect your connections, consider placing a brick or similar object under them to keep them off the ground. We also recommend wrapping connections to reduce moisture exposure.
Important Dates: Display Setup Deadline: Displays should be set up by Wednesday, November 22.
Lighting Ceremony: The ‘Light Up Gullord Park’ event begins on Sunday, November 24 at 3:30 p.m. as Santa arrives in style by horse-drawn carriage!
Activities for Kids: Enjoy holiday fun with the family, including carriage rides around the park.
Hot Chocolate: Warm up with delicious hot chocolate, courtesy of the Masonic Lodge.
Lighting Time: At 5:30 p.m., the park will come alive with lights, which will stay lit nightly from 5 to 10 p.m. through January 1st.
