The 2024 Slayton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 64’s Girls State Candidate is Theran Mannon. She is the daughter of Kimberly Mannon.
The Slayton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 64 is happy to sponsor Theran who will be attending the 77th session of The American Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State Program. It is a weeklong session from Sunday, June 9th to Saturday June 15th held at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN.
The purpose of the Girls State program is to provide Americanism and good citizenship training and to inform our participants about duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of government as practiced in a democratic society.
The American Legion Auxiliary’s Girl State has been heralded by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and has been placed on the National Advisory List of Contests and Activities.
