A SHORT PRE STORM MEETING OF THE COMMISSIONERS

By Joanne Bergman The Murray County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 with all five commissioners present. Highway Engineer Randy Groves explained the need to have the Ditch Authority approval for a tile outlet into CD 68. This will service the new highway department building on Highway 30. The tile size and a manhole cover were mandated by MNDot to ceived from the occupant of the mobile home at 2307 Oak Avenue. This is a tax forfeited property owned by J.W. Hein and occupied by Nathan Janssen. Notice to evict the property had been made in November. The City of Slayton has purchased the property. The eviction will be processed with action taken at this meeting.

Solid Waste Manager Jon Bloemendaal received approval of the agreement with S.E.H. for professional services. Landfill monitoring reports to MPCA are completed by S.E.H. along with management of any possible issues that arise. This has been a long serving arrangement.

Jean Christoffels once again brought the EV Charging Station Grant Application forward. The plan is to install EV charging stations at the Government Center and at End O Line Park in Currie. The County’s 20% share of the cost would be $15,491. Commissioner Thiner continued to oppose the application citing EV charging stations as a private income opportunity. The other Commissioners gave their approval.
