SHERIFF DEPARTMENT REACHES AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF FULDA

of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Jean Christoffels and Sarah Soderholm of the Environmental Services office were present to request approval of a Subscription Service Agreement that will enable them to input data for the DesMoines River Watershed Partnership. The data helps determine the cost of project and also the amount of pollution reduction once a project is completed. The program costs are borne by the partnership. It was approved by the Board.

Auditor Treasurer Heidi Winter presented the ditch bills for approval. $23,885 was paid to cover the costs of two years of open ditch spraying. A Procurement Policy was approved at the request of auditors with presented a Contract for Services with the City of Fulda. Under the agreement his department would provide services as needed to the City during 41.6 days of vacation time. The City of Fulda will pay $20,000 annually for the service beginning January 1, 2024. The Commissioners did ask for a clause for a 90 day cancellation by either party of the agreement.

Sheriff Landsmann provided an update on the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force. Lincoln County has joined the group and will be contributing $4.50 per capita. He will be submitting grant requests from the opiod grant settlement to cover the cost of drug testing equipment needed for the safety of his officers.

County Administrator Carolyn McDonald proposed updating the job description of the Human Resources Director adding supervision of the General Assistant. The action reflects the dayto- day operation of the department and does not add duties.
