8 teams took to the track on Saturday at 4:00 so support cancer survivors in Murray County. Survivors were treated to a meal from the pork producers and the dairy association. Tony Moger provided dinner music while everyone enjoyed the food. Luminary lined the fairgounds with names of survivors and also those we remember.
New this year was the Hope Garden that had 120 colored luminaries intertwined with flowers and garden bling. Hope Garden luminaries were purchased for $100 to support Hope for all the American Society is doing to end cancer.
This years honorary chairs Alaina Jans and Steve Muecke shared about their journey and how it has impacted them and their family.
Darci Fink, a researcher from Brookings shared some of her experiences and updates about her research.
The silent auction was a big hit again with many baskets for attendees to bid on.
Currie was the number one team raising 20,177.97 Schaap Sanitation took 2nd place raising 9,252.85 Minnwest Bank placed 3rd raising 8,030.00 followed by Fulda with 7,933.21, MCC Students and Staff with 6,303.00 The Beckering family contributed 3,130.75 from Malt sales the Caregivers from the Medical Center contributed 2,735.00 followed by the Almich family with 2,593.66.
