Saturday August 13th will be the 27th Relay For Life event in Murray County.
We will have entertainment by Tony Moger beginning at 4:45. Survivor Registration will begin at 4:00 by the Racetrack. You are encouraged to park in the South End of the fairgrounds and golf cart shuttle service will be available. Each survivor in attendance will be given a goody bag that includes a coupon for your meal at the Pork Produces stand and American Dairy Assoc. stand.
If you are a survivor and have not registered yet please Give Linda Tobias a call to register at 763-3173 so we are sure to have enough bags for all survivors. Beginning at 5:30 will be the survivor lap and ribbon cutting followed by the team parade of champions from the 7 teams we have represented this year. Totzke funeral home/Todd Hieronimus will be sponsoring the butterfly release followed by The Klassens who will be providing our main entertainment.
You will hear from our Honorary Chairs Kristen Hansen from Currie and Brooks Almich from Slayton. We have a silent auction event in the 4H building beginning at 4:00 and ending at 9:00 with options to “Buy it Now”. The Fight Back Ceremony will conclude our evening at 11:00 pm.
Luminary will be lit along the path containing names of those we Honor and remember. The Luminary represent a spectacular site thru the fairgrounds. Taking a moment to give thanks or reflect on those we remember is a powerful part of Relay.
There is still time to get your luminary bags by contacting any team member. Suggested cost is $10.00 and your contribution goes to finding that cure for cancer that well all want. Please plan to attend the Relay on August 13th and be prepared to be touched by the power of our community in bonding together to find that cure.
