MCC GOLFERS
MCC competed in their second of four varsity conference meets on Thursday. The boys traveled to Mountain Lake, while the girls went to Westbrook. It was another challenging day for golf. The players had to golf through wet course conditions as well as some chillier temperatures.
In Westbrook, the girls started off slow. Each of the girls started off with a few bogeys and double bogeys before finding a par. At the end of the day MCC came in third place as a team with 403. Ava Johnson led the Rebels with a 94. Johnson carded 3 pars and finished tied in 3rd place individually. She stated, “Honestly, I could have played a lot better but I feel as though I still played very well. I need to work on keeping my head down and not let anything change throughout the round in my swing.” Rachael Huso followed right behind with a 95. Huso also carded 3 pars and finished in 4th place. The Rebels team score was rounded out by Lauren Larson (106) and Natalie Einck (108). The girls are sitting in second place as a team after this meet.
On the boys side Lucas Kuball led for the Rebels. He shot 5 pars with a total score of 89. Kuball played consistently throughout his round and was able to bounce back from a couple of difficult holes. Kuball finished tied in 6th place individually. As a team, the boys finished with a 383. The Rebels are currently sitting in 6th place as a team.
