RECYCLE THOSE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS, PLEASE!

Well, they worked when you put them away last year. And how did they turn into a tangled ball when you weren’t looking?

If you’re in the midst of the annual Christmas lights battle, Murray County Recycling Center has assistance to offer while offering assistance back to others.

The Murray County Recycling Center will take your old Christmas lights, which keeps them out of a landfill. But where do they go from there? To Canby DAC!

They become part of a win-win situation. Clients from the Canby Developmental Achievement Center are provided meaningful employment separating the bulbs from the wires, keeping valuable recyclables out of the landfills.

The Canby DAC accepts lights and cords yearround. They recycle all cords, including appliance, computer, phone changers, telephone, extension and more!

So bring those tangled, messy, non-working Christmas lights (and the old, beat-up extension cords) to the Murray County Recycling Center at 1820 Erlandson Avenue in Slayton. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Not sure if the recycling center will take your unique lights or decorations? Call 507-836-1164.
