Brooklyne Boerboom works as a hospital nurse and will be transitioning to the Clinic Manager soon. Brooklyne has been with MCMC since 2017. “Growing up, I dreamed of having a job that would make a difference and help others. As a nurse, I have the privilege to make a difference in the lives of others daily. I am blessed to be a nurse in my hometown and give back to the community that has offered me so much!”
Megan Johnson works as charge nurse, hospital nurse, and helps as discharge planner as well. Megan has been with MCMC since 2019. “Why I enjoy being a nurse….I love being able to talk with people and hear their stories. I also enjoy caring for people and educating them on how to care for their health.”
Kay Platt works as a hospital nurse and has been with MCMC since 2015. “I enjoy nursing because I enjoy helping people. It makes me feel great when a patient tells me I made their stay at the hospital better because of something I was able to do for them.”
Kendra Gronewold works as a Hospital nurse, helps in surgery as needed and will be helping in Cardiac Rehab soon. Kendra has been with MCMC since 2015. “I enjoy nursing because of the many different areas you can work in especially in a small rural hospital, you have the opportunity to help in many different areas to broaden your nursing knowledge. I enjoy caring for the community because you see many of the same people and you get to know them, their health and their families on a personal level and you develop close relationships with them.”
Karlee Kruger works as a casual RN for the hospital. Karlee has been with MCMC since 2017. “I enjoy nursing for many reasons, but one of my favorite things is learning something new every day, especially learning from patients. I enjoy caring for our community because MCMC is able to provide an excellent team of health care professionals close to home.”
Paula VanDyke works as a Charge nurse, Hospital nurse, and is our Level 4 Trauma Coordinator. Paula has been with MCMC since 2011. “I enjoy nursing because I enjoy seeing results. I see this when we help to relieve a patient’s pain or discomfort, when a patient gets stronger through rehabilitation, when we stabilize critical patients, and in many other ways. I love working as a team and our hospital is very lucky to have the staff and nurses that we do! I grew up in this community, therefore I care very much about it. Our community is fortunate to have healthcare right here and I’m thankful to be a part of caring for familiar faces and helping them through some of their most difficult times.”
Jessica Ostermeier works in our Surgery Department as an RN and helps with our infection control program. Jessica has been with MCMC since 2014. “I have the opportunity to help people in their most vulnerable, sometimes unexpected moments of their lives. Knowing that my care, touch, voice, presence and time can help patients during stressful times is very rewarding. MCMC has a great surgical team that runs like a well-oiled machine. Many of our community members begin their healing journey in our operating rooms and I am proud to be a part of the team that serves such a wonderful community.”
Molly VanWinkle works as our Surgery Supervisor. She helps in all roles in our surgery department. Molly has been with MCMC since 2004. “I enjoy nursing because I love caring for people and I love that I can work autonomously and with a great team . I love caring for the people of this community by getting to know them personally during their hospital stay, supporting them in their healing process and letting them know they are like family when I am caring for them.”
Brian Peterson is our Certified Nurse Anesthetist. Brian works well with our patients to ensure they are well taken care of for surgical procedures. He is certified for many different types of pain management procedures. He has been with MCMC since 2003. “I enjoy my job because I get to help patients alleviate pain and anxiety safely while collaborating with the surgical provider and hospital staff. I enjoy caring for our community because most of our patients are our friends and neighbors who we care deeply about.” Brenna Evans is our Surgical Technician. She has been with MCMC since 2021. “I like to help others and work with a team in a hands on, fast paced environment. Working for a smaller community makes it feel like your coworkers are your family and everyone is very friendly.”
Kristina Spartz works in our Surgery Department as an RN and helps manage our infection control program. Kristi has been with MCMC since 2011. “I chose nursing as my career because I enjoy caring for people and feeling like I have made a difference in their lives. I enjoy working in the community that I live in as it gives me the opportunity to care for individuals on more of a personable level and feel that I can more closely relate to them and their families.
Julie Lind works as a casual RN for the hospital. Julie has been with MCMC since 2020. “I enjoy working at MCMC because I get to work with great people who really care about providing quality care. It’s a positive work environment! It’s a privilege to care for our community. I am grateful for my job!”
Emmie Lolkus works as a Charge nurse, Hospital nurse, Diabetes Nurse, and is our Stoke program coordinator. Emmie has been with MCMC since 2016. “My mom encouraged me to try nursing and I love it. I enjoy caring for our community because this is the community I grew up in. It’s like taking care of family (and sometimes it actually is taking care of your own family). So you know I’m going to do my best for you!!!
Brooke Ryan works as a hospital nurse and has been with MCMC since 2021. “I enjoy caring for the community I grew up in. There is nothing more rewarding than caring for those who you’ve known almost your entire life. I am happy to serve them and this community.”
Daryl Johnson works as a Charge nurse and Hospital nurse. Daryl has been with MCMC since 2002. “My mom dragged me to help her at the nursing home one day and I have enjoyed helping to care for others since then. I love caring for those I have grown up with in this community. This is my family!!!”
Donna Thomson works as a charge nurse and hospital nurse. Donna has been with MCMC since 2008. “I enjoy Nursing because it’s the profession that keeps on giving. Caring for others makes me feel great, brings peace to my soul, and gives me a feeling of purpose. I enjoy caring for the community because it is rewarding in so many ways.”
Matt Beek works as a casual RN for the hospital. Matt has been with MCMC since 2020. “Matt enjoys seeing people recuperate which unfortunately doesn’t always happen but he enjoys being able to contribute to help them in their moments of need.”
Brenda works in the hospital and prefers to work only night shifts. Brenda has been with MCMC since 2012. “I am thankful to be a nurse for the chance to assist people to get back to their normal. We help patients that are at all stages of life and all stages of disease and injury. The patients come here because they can’t get back to former function without help. It feels good to be in a position of being needed and appreciated for assisting patients’ whey they are ill or hurt. I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t be a nurse. The people I work with are professionals in the field of healthcare. They are competent caring individuals who have families and friends in the community and surrounding area. The caregiving they provide is selfless and I am proud to work with them all.
Jody Jackels works as a charge nurse, hospital nurse, and surgery nurse. Jody has been with MCMC since 1996. “I love being a nurse! I feel privileged to be able to care for the people in my community. I find helping people very rewarding and satisfying. So many times, the individuals I care for are either a friend, neighbor, or relative which sometimes can be very tough depending on the situation but also very special knowing that I made a difference in someone’s life. I love the fast-paced environment, various duties, and wide range of challenges that being a nurse brings on a daily basis. Being a nurse brings me great enjoyment and feeling accomplished. MCMC is like a big family all working together to provide the very best care for our patients and I am proud to be part of this team.”
Monica VanOtterloo works as the Chief Nursing Officer and helps where needed. Monica has been with MCMC since 2009. “I enjoy nursing because I like to help people. Nursing is a profession where you continue to learn how to best help those you love in so many areas of their lives. Caring for this community is a privilege and I have met and learned about so many amazing individuals and their stories. Amber Humphrey works as a casual RN filling in for both charge and hospital nurse. Amber has been with MCMC since 2014. “I enjoy nursing because I am able to be involved in patients’ lives and be there for them during what can be a very challenging and vulnerable time. It is incredibly rewarding and I love being involved in the process of caring for them.
