The MCC Rebel Volleyball team started their season with two losses. Thursday night the Rebels were at home for the first time this season. The Rebels played the Dawson Boyd Blackjacks. A year ago, the Rebels went to Dawson, losing 3 games to 1. The Rebels would look for a little revenge Thursday and they would get it.
The Rebels dominated the entire match-up on Thursday. The Rebels served aggressively, which got the Blackjacks out of system and the Rebels were able to take advantage. MCC Rebel freshman Suttyn Schryvers played her best game of the season, leading the team in kills and showing good consistency throughout the match. The Rebel setters went to her all game long. She made that trust payoff. Peyton Degreeff also played her best match of the season, not only getting blocks, but by getting her swings in for a handful of kills. Kate Blankenship showed off some nice all around kills along the back row for MCC who got the win 3-0.
The Rebels dominated the play, winning game one 25 to 14, game two 25 to 18, and game three 25 to 15. The Rebels didn’t allow Dawson Boyd to ever get into the game. If the Blackjacks scored a couple of points, the Rebels would get a side out and score three back. MCC elevated their record to 1-2 on the season.
MCC will play in Lamberton on Tuesday night this week and then at home against HLOF on Thursday.
