In the first set of the night, the Rebels fell behind early to RTR. MCC’s defense kept the ball alive keeping pace with the Knight’s various attack strategies, but continued to be hurt by violations and ball handling calls.

The Rebels clawed their way back into the game with Kelli Miller at the line. It was the Knight’s turn to try and handle MCC’s scrappy play and allow the visitors to come within one, 11-10, before RTR went on an eight point run to regain control of the set. MCC wasn’t out of it yet, as they chipped away at the lead once again before the Knight’s came away with the first real attacks of the night from either team and secured the win, 25-16.

The Knights took advantage of Rebel errors and came out in the second set with a nice 5-0 lead. Frustrated by too many hitting errors the MCC coaches called their first timeout. The Knights attacked and extended the lead to double digits as the Rebels had a hard time with RTR serves. MCC used their final time out, but it did not ice the home team and they took the second set, 25-6.

The brooms came out for RTR in the final set of the match, The Rebels had their chances throughout the set off a nice double block from Loosbrock and Schneider followed by a line shot kill by Rosenbrook, but the hole dug by MCC was just too large to overcome. Knights win the match, 25-13.

The Rebels finish the regular season with a 10-14 record and move on to tournament play the RRC Falcons at home on October 23rd in first round action.
