Rebel Roundup

There’s a chill in the air, the leaves are falling, and FOOTBALL IS IN FULL SWING! It has been an exciting season for the 5th and 6th Grade Tackle Football program this Fall. A tough 28 players are suiting up in full pads and helmets for practice twice a week to work on their offense and defense and prepare for their next opponent. Over the past few weeks, MCC has hosted HLO/F and RTR and has traveled to play TMB, Wabasso and Dawson-Boyd. Our teams will then travel to Minneota on October 5th and host Lakeview on October 12th.

Football fundamentals are also being taught at the K4th Grade level during Flag Football and the K-1 camp at MCC. The K-1 football camp has 20 students signed up for Saturday morning fun and an energetic group of 36 athletes don their flags and huddle up on Monday nights eager to be coached by some fabulous volunteer high school football players. Flag Football starts out with practice drills and onto the excitement of fully refereed 40 minute games. Come on out and support our young MCC Rebels under the big lights for their last game on Monday, October 7 from 7:00-8:00 pm at the MCC Football Field.

Fall Volleyball, for 3rd-6th graders, is being held on Sundays for 40 athletes to learn fundamentals as well as playing competitive games. This program is only possible because of the wonderful help from the high school volleyball players and coaches.

Beaver Creek Archery Club will be hosting a youth archery league on Thursdays starting October 17th for archers ages 5 and up. Come to the archery range and experience the excitement of hitting the bullseye. The archer will learn the basic skills of archery and have fun at the same time. Equipment will be provided for class, but if you have your own bow and arrows, feel free to bring them.

I really can’t say enough about the incredible volunteer coaches we have for all our activities. They dedicate hours of their time and share their passion of the sport with so many kids – the programs would not be possible without them! We are blessed to be part of a community that is so supportive of our youth!
