Murray County Central Boys Basketball Coach, Tim Cariveau, was notified last week that the team had won the Section 3A Academic Championship Award. He received the news via email from Kelly Raymond, Chairman of Team Academic Championships, Minnesota Boys Basketball Coaches Association.
Raymond’s message stated, “Congratulations! Your boys’ basketball team has won the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Team Academic Section Championship! Congratulations to the team, school, coaches, and athletic department for promoting such quality student-athletes.”
Raymond informed Cariveau that the team’s academic accomplishment would be displayed periodically on the scoreboard at Williams Arena or the Target Center throughout the entire course of the State Basketball Tournament March 24-28.
Each MCC Team member will also receive a certificate of achievement.
