Pictured above is Kelly Nelson presenting a check to Father Thien Nguyen. St. Ann Church in Slayton is raising funds for a much-needed Pew Refurbishment Project. The original pews are starting to wear and split and after 70 years of use need some attention. Kelly Nelson, a parishioner at St. Ann, received Volunteer of the Year recognition from her employer, HyLife of Windom. HyLife’s mission statement is at the heart of what we do – “We take care of communities.” Our employees embody this value through different initiatives where they live and work. Each year, we select people from across our company and award them with the prestigious HyLife Volunteer of the Year title. HyLife allows the chosen employee to select a charitable organization to donate $1,000 to. Kelly named St. Ann as the recipient of the donation and dedicated the funds to go towards the Pew Project. St. Ann is offering a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Sunday, March 12th and are also holding a raffle this month with only 500 tickets sold and 52 chances to win. Anyone is welcome to the breakfast on Sunday. Anyone 18 and older can purchase raffle tickets.
