MURRAY & PIPESTONE COUNTIES SET TO HOST WEBINAR WORKSHOP FOR NEGOTIATING A FAIR FARMLAND RENTAL AGREEMENT

Negotiating a fair rental agreement that satisfies the landowner, and the farmer is a challenge, attend our local Zoom watch party in Slayton to learn about trends in the past and current farmland rates, presented by Nathan Hulinsky and University of Minnesota Extension On Tuesday, November 25, there will be a Zoom watch party held in the Murray County 4-H Building (3048 Broadway Ave., Slayton, MN 56172) starting at 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. to discuss current local farmland values and sales, input costs, corn and soybean prices and join other local landlords, farmers, and agri-business professionals in discussion.

With farmland rental rates being one of the largest input costs a farmer has, make plans to attend this free meeting hosted by the University of Minnesota Extension. Examples, factsheets and worksheets will be available to help determine rental rates for both parties, what is affordable for the farmer to pay, rate of return to the landlord, current market values and flexible rental agreements. If you are interested in attending, either virtually or in person, please register using the QR code, https://z.umn.edu/ at0u or call the Murray County Extension Office at (507)-8366927 or the Pipestone County Extension Office at (507)-8251190.
