The Murray County Historical Society will be holding their 2024 annual meeting on Sunday, October 13th at the Key Largo Ballroom starting at 2pm. There will be a presentation on the Jame’s brothers escape from Northfield, followed by a short business meeting. Refreshments will be provided. We hope to see everyone there!
Russ Swanson will present about what was once the largest manhunt in US history. After the Northfield bank robbery, the James/Younger Gang fled across southern Minnesota with some of them making it to Dakota Territory before finding their way back to Missouri. Detailed maps resulting from years of research will document the gang’s various stops along the way. The gang did flee through Murray County and were witnessed in Lime Lake Township!
