The Murray County Historical Society invites the public to attend its November Dinehart Lunchbox Lecture on Tuesday, November 8 in the 4-H building on the Murray County Fairgrounds in Slayton starting at noon. The cost of the talk is $3.00 per person or Historical Society members get in free. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch. Refreshments and light snacks are provided.
This month’s lecture will feature Doug Ohman who will present “Vanishing Landmarks of Minnesota.” Explore back roads and small towns, while hearing stories of Minnesota’s historic buildings that are quickly disappearing. Doug will share his experiences visiting many of these sites from Minnesota’s oldest Courthouse to the last Civil War recruiting station. Doug Ohman is a popular speaker, historian, author, and entertaining storyteller. He is also an expert photographer with deep Minnesota roots. Living in Minnesota with his wife Krin, Doug has spent the last 30 years uncovering and bringing Minnesota’s rich history to life in a fun and casual style.
Prefer not to or can’t attend in-person? The presentation will also be live streamed on the Murray County Historical Museum’s Facebook page. If you can’t watch it live, the live streamed video will also be recorded and saved on our Facebook page to watch at your leisure.
