MURRAY COUNTY 4-H HOSTS “WATER WARS” On July 24th, Murray County 4-H held a water wars! The kids had a blast playing tons of exciting water games, which included sponge musical chairs, ring toss, kickball, drip drip drop, and a lot of large group activity. Not a single kid went home dry. For the three-hour program, each kid learned about working in teams, conflict resolution and strategic planning - yes water fights are stragetic. 80 local youth and a few brave adults were on hand to enjoy the fun on such a hot day. It was the perfect sunny summer day to play around in some water. Squirt guns, sponges, and reusable water balls were a hit for the day. So much fun was had and many kids were still smiling as they left! For more information, call Extension Educator Kim Hause at 507-836-1144. MURRAY COUNTY 4-H HOSTS “SCIENCE INQUIRY” On July 25th, Murray County 4-H hosted a Science Inquiry day. Twenty different science experiments were planned and prepared so the kids could easily follow every step. A few of the different science experiments that we had available were lava lamp bottles, mini elephant toothpaste, tornado in a bottle, rainbow volcano, bubble blower, and so many more exciting projects. All of the kids had so much fun and got to learn so many new things during this program. There were 45 kids that attended this program and got to pick and choose which experiments they wanted to try out. The kids got to learn how to problem solve when the experiment didn’t work right away, to work together in a group, and to be patient when certain things take time. So many smiles, laughs, and messes were had the whole day! For more information, call Extension Educator Kim Hause at 507-836-1144.
