MURRAY COUNTY 4-H HOST “TAKE YOUR BEST SHOT”

On June 27th, 2023, Murray County 4-H hosted a team building activity called “Take Your Best Shot”. The goal of the activity was to create a sports themed Rube Goldberg Machine that has six steps and will achieve your goal of getting the best shot.

A laundry list of supplies were placed out for the kids to use and create some kind of simple machine or device that will work using many different tasks going at the same time. The kids had the option to either work independently, or to create a group. 24 kids showed up and used their brains to engineer a machine with many at least six different steps. They were taught how to work together, how simple machines become complex machines and how to achieve their best shot. Youth were also asked what they would build if they could build anything in the world, letting them know the sky is the limit on their creativity.
