Murray County Ambassadors served 300 meals to local farmers and their families to start off National 4-H Week!
Sunday, October 4, twenty- three Murray County 4-H Ambassadors along with the help of our educators and three adult volunteers, prepped, cooked and packaged over three hundred meals to help out our local farming families as the harvest season is underway. Families needed to register by September 30 to get their names on the list to receive their free meal made possible by the Murray County 4-H Program.
“This event is something that our Ambassador group requests to do every year, how can I say no to that? I am proud that these kids want to benefit our community, even when it means taking time out of their busy schedule. I’m very fortunate to have such great youth and adult members in our 4-H program.” said Kim Hause, Murray County Extension, Youth Development Educator.
The meal consisted of a walking taco with all the fixings, chips, cookies and a bottle of water!
