MURRAY COUNTY 4-H AMBASSADORS ASSEMBLE VALENTINE’S DAY GOODIE BAGS FOR LOCAL SENIOR CITIZENS

With Valentine’s Day coming around the corner, the Murray County Ambassadors wanted to continue the practice of giving Valentine’s Day goodie bags to senior citizens residing in Lindenwood Assisted Living, Sunrise Terrace, and Maple Lawn Senior Care.

Sixteen youth members showed up on Sunday, February 2, in the Murray County Courts Meeting Room assembling over seventy-five Valentine’s Day goodie bags. “I was really happy to see the kids were wanting to do this project again. I let the youth tell me what they want to do each year to give back to the community and this was something that stuck in their minds from last year. They saw the impact it made on their day and how appreciative the recipients were.” Says Murray County 4-H Youth Development Educator, Kim Hause.

The goodie bags consisted of a crossword puzzle book, a crocheted pocket hug, lip balm, different types of personalized toiletries, and a bag of cookies.

There are thirty-five Murray County 4-H Ambassadors, and this is one of the monthly events that they do to either help their local communities or organizations. Be on the lookout for more activities that our Ambassadors are involved in!
