Melissa Kay Runck of Avoca was among 626 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during a combined graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremony Aug. 13 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Runck earned a Master of Applied Science from the Office of Graduate Studies.
The graduates are from 34 countries, 39 states and more than 70 Nebraska communities.
Susan M. Swearer, Willa Cather Professor and chair of the Department of Educational Psychology at Nebraska, delivered the commencement address.
In addition, previous graduates who were unable to attend their ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic were celebrated. Four returned to be recognized.
