Another season has come and gone for the MCC Volleyball program. Just like in years past, we had a large number of players out this season in grades 7-12. Our coaching staff loves to see that so many girls continue to have a passion for this sport. The 2021 season also brought back some “normalcy,” which was refreshing for the players, coaches and fans.
Our varsity team had many returning players from the previous season, but also added in some new players to the mix. It took the players awhile to find their groove and momentum as a team, but the girls eventually got there. The mix of experience and wisdom along with new perspectives made for a well balanced team. In the end, MCC came together and finished their season playing their best volleyball. The Red Rock conference had an extremely tough line-up again this year. MCC finished the year off with a Red Rock conference record of 3-5 and an overall record of 8-17. MCC finished tied for 6th place in the Red Rock conference. Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda was the Red Rock Conference Champion, and Red Rock Central was the runnerup. In the 3A South Section MCC was voted the #9 seed. The Rebels won their first pigtail match against WWG, but fell in the first round of subsections to HLO/F.
The volleyball season couldn’t possibly end without saying “thank you” to the fantastic parents and fans! The girls couldn’t have done it without your continued love and support over the years. We’d also like to thank all the school staff and community members who helped make the season run smoothly. Finally, thank you to all of our seniors: Kiana Felber, Sophie Larson, Emma Richardson, Camdyn Kluis, Helene Aandstad, Riley Boese, Emily Rohrer and Ciera Tutt. The volleyball program wishes you nothing but the best in your future endeavours. YOU WILL BE SO MISSED!
