This year’s MCC female Triple A Award winner is Lindsey Hause. Lindsey is the daughter of Ben & Kim Hause. Her future plans are to attend University of MN-Morris for Communication, Media, and Rhetoric with a Minor in Political Science & Pre-Law. While at MCC she has been involved in cross country, track & field, speech, FFA, band, mock trial, 4H, student council president and Minnesota Honor Society.
As stated by one of her teachers. “Lindsey is also an excellent role model. As student council president, Lindsey works with her fellow peers to create a positive climate inside and outside the school—whether it be coming up with inclusive and fun activities for homecoming or delivering cookies to the local nursing home.” Congratulations Lindsey.
This year’s MCC male Triple A Award winner is Thomas Huso. Thomas is the son of Kay & Chris. His future plans are to attend Minnesota West Community & Technical College majoring in Plumbing Technologies.
While at MCC Thomas has been involved in band, choir, one act play, speech, mock trial, Minnesota Honor Society, class officer, football, basketball & track & field.
One of Thomas’ teachers described Thomas as this type of leader. “Not everyone given the spotlight is a positive role model for others, but Thomas has consistently shown his positive influence to those around him. As a leader within the theater, Thomas shows his kindness and respect to help those around him succeed. Whether it be assisting elementary kids to have a passion for the arts, or guiding fellow peers to perform at their best, Thomas is a natural leader and a positive role model to others.”
Thomas was also selected as the Sub-Section 10 male Triple A winner. Congratulations Thomas.
To be eligible for the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award a student must: be a high school senior at the time of nomination. Nominations are limited to two qualifying students per school, one male and one female. The nominees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the date of nomination. They must participate in Leaguesponsored athletics and fine arts activities while complying with the MSHSL’s Student Code of Conduct policy. The last nomination criteria is that the student athlete must complete the application form.
