The MCC Track teams ventured to Tracy to participate in an eight team invitational. With near perfect weather conditions, it was a great night to compete and the performances showed.
Sophia Nelson had a great all around night placing 3rd in the 200 meter dash and 4th in the 400. Nelson was also a member of the 4th place finishing 4x400 relay where she teamed up with Isabela Schreier, Beatrice Sargentini and Charley Holm. Schreier had an 8th place finish in the 200 while Holm was 5th in the long jump. Holm was also a member of the 6th place finishing 4x200 relay team. She was joined by Zita Wallisch, Kora Kremer and Courtney Gengler. Wallisch, Kremer, and Gengler were teamed with Chloe Kremer to place 6th in the 4x100. Holland Vogel had a runner up finish in the 2 mile and 6th place finish in the triple jump. Rounding out top finishers on the night for the girls was Erica Doeden, placing 8th in the discus.
The boys continue to impress with their performances as they won the overall team score, out-scoring the second place team by over 30 points. Alex Betz took top honors in the 800 run while teammate Henry Carlson was 4th. Wesley Hause was runner up in the 2 mile while also placing 7th in the mile. Walker Biren was 4th in the 2 mile. In the 400 meter dash, Brayden Gilb ran a personal best time on his way to a 5th place finish. Teammates Dylan Gilbertson (6th) and Beckett Stelter (7th) were right behind him. Glib also had an 8th place finish in the 200. The high hurdle race saw three Rebels place with Carter Knakmuhs leading the way coming in 3rd while Blaine Braun and Tyler Reith placed 6th and 7th. Reith ran a personal best time in the 300 hurdles where he placed 4th, narrowly beating teammate Parker Olson who finished 5th.
The relays showed some impressive times on the day. The 4x400 team of Alex Betz, Andrew Holm, Anikan Larson and Lucas Kuball were champions, winning by over 8 seconds. Holm, Larson and Kuball ran with Parker Olson in the 4x200 where they placed 2nd. Also finishing as runners up was the 4x800 team of Stelter, Gilbertson, Carlson and Biren. The 4x100 team of Max Mathiason, Griffin Braun, Jackson Schroeder and Luke Iverson placed 4th.
The throwing crew had many personal records within the respected events. Isaiah Wolske led the way with two runner up finishes (shot put and discus) recording personal best marks in each. His brother, Gabe, had a personal best throw in the discus placing 3rd. Broox Platt had a personal best throw in the shot put, coming in 5th place. Torin ThunderHawk, coming back from an injury, won the high jump while teammate Knakmuhs was third. In the triple jump, Griffin Braun was 6th and Brett Pieske was 8th.
