MCC competed in their first of four varsity conference meets this past Thursday. The boys made their way to Fulda, while the girls went to Westbrook. The weather was not ideal, and the golfers hurried to get their 18 holes done before the storm rolled in. The boys in Fulda delayed their start and had to be pulled off the course before finishing until the storm passed. Luckily, the golfers were able to go back out and finish their round.
In Fulda, the boys played well scoring a 398 putting them tied for 4th place going into the next meet. McKade Gillette improved on the day even after a rough start. He carded an 89, parring 7 holes. Gillette is currently in 4th place overall and is leading the Rebels on the boys side. For the girls, Ciera Tutt came in with a strong score for the Rebels parring 3 holes and birding 1 hole. Tutt posted a 95 for the day, putting her tied for 5th place individually. As a team MCC’s girls posted a 428, putting them in 3rd place currently.
MCC will compete in three more 18 hole conference tournaments this year. Individually, players will take their two best scores from the first three tournaments, while the final conference meet scores must be taken. For teams, all four tournament scores are taken for an overall total.
