The MCC Boys Golf team had a beautiful, sunny day at the Marshall Golf Course. The day started off a little windy, but quickly changed to perfect golfing weather. The Rebels faced quite a few challenging opponents, but finished with some of their best scores yet.
Kaden Landsman finished in the front of the pack for the Rebels with a score of 83. Landsman carded four pars and three birdies for the day, finishing tied for 20th place out of 81 golfers. Landsman said, “I hit my drives very well and warmed up to the course as I golfed. I need to work on putting a bit, but I played very good. I think it’s just because I’ve been practicing a lot.” Senior Dawson Schreier, had a great round with a total of 89. Schreier stated he was able to take his time, and focus on his game. MCC’s team total was 355 landing them in 9th place. The Rebels team score was rounded out by Jett Veldhuisen and Lucas Kuball.
The Rebels continue making nice improvements individually as the season progresses, and their team score average continues to decrease. MCC will begin conference play this week and will need to continue making improvements going forward if they want to be competitive within the conference and section.
