MCC’s boys traveled to Worthington this past Friday to compete in the Trojan 18-hole Invite. The weather was ideal, with sunny skies and little to no wind. The boys had a great outing despite having some issues with their short games.
The Rebels were led by freshman Jett Veldhuisen who posted an 88 for the round and tied for 16th place overall. Veldhuisen carded five pars on the day. When reflecting on his round Veldhuisen stated, “I played really well and it was a nice day. I was able to let go of bad shots, but I do need to practice on my short game.” The Rebels finished in 6th place as a team with a score of 372. Practice over the next few weeks will be extremely important to make the gains necessary to be competitive in the conference. MCC’s boys are eager to continue making improvements individually, which will help them as a team going forward. Boys Individual Medalists:
