TO THE EDITOR:
It is sad to say farewell. The Murray County Administrator, Carolyn McDonald, made an executive decision to have the perennial flower garden om the northeast side of the Murray County Courthouse removed. Out went the pavers, the garden bench, garden stones, plants and mulch.
The garden was established in honor of the late Sally Voss. Sally was the Horticulture Superintendent at the Murray County Fair for many, many years. When she passed, her husband, Frank, called the Master Gardeners to see if we wanted the plants in her flower garden. At that time, we established the small garden on the Murray County Courthouse lawn.
Now it is all over. The little garden at the south end of Broadway Avenue is no more. Sorry pollinators, we can’t help you anymore. We did our very best.
Happy mowing!!!! Kathy Schwartz Murray County Master Gardener
