Murray County Central Varsity Rebels two pitchers didn’t allow a single hit, as Murray County Central defeated HLO/F 34-0 on Thursday. Krew Schneider struck out K. Spittle to get the last out of the game.
Murray County Central was boosted by Senior Christian Tentinger who went 4 for 5 at the plate. Tentinger singled in the first, homered in the second, and singled in both the third and fifth innings.
Derek Kluis got things started right away in the first inning blasting a triple, scoring 1 run in. The right hander also was credited with the victory allowing zero hits and zero runs over 3 innings pitched. Krew Schneider threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Murray County Central totaled 29 hits, with 11 runs alone in the 5th inning. Aidan Dierks, Schneider, Tanner Graphenteen, Owen Gillette, Kluis and Abe Paulzine all had RBIs in the big inning for the Rebels. Multiple hits by Kluis, Tentinger, Connor DeGreeff, Jaden Deacon, Gavin Gillette, Dylan Kluis, Owen Gillette, Teague Meyer and Abe Paulzine helped the Rebels get the win for the first game of the season. Tentinger and Derek Kluis each collected four hits each in the game.
For HLO/F Dillon Smith toed the rubber. The hurler surrendered six runs on six hits over 2 innings, striking out three and walking one. Trevor Bass, Tim Salentiny and Brenton Erdman each contributed relief for HLO/F
