KIWANIS PANCAKE BREAKFAST!

What do you think is the major focus of the Slayton Kiwanis Club? If you thought it has to do with our children, you guessed right. In fact, our kids benefit from Kiwanis support from many different directions: our yearly ($1,000) graduate scholarships, from the Murray County Early Childhood Initiative, and the Murray County Christmas Project. Also, the 4th & 5th graders learn leadership skills, self development and character building from attending K-Kids, which is coordinated with the Slayton elementary school.

The list of benefits to students continues with Boy Scouts (which includes girls now), Youth Soccer, Junior Golf Tournament, After Prom Party, Children’s Miracle Network, Lyon Murray CEO Program and many more worthwhile projects. They all help our kids become healthy, motivated, and successful students on their way to a productive life.

It takes considerable time and energy to provide these “perks” to our kids, but Kiwanis members step up to the task, which includes raising funds from the community (along with our dues) to finance the projects and materials that the kids need.

Please attend our next fundraiser, the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, this Sunday, November 10 at the 4-H Building at the Fairgrounds. Breakfast is served from 9:00 - 12:30 p.m. at a cost of $10 for adults, $4.00 for children ages 6 - 12 years, while kids 5 years and under are free.

Plan to contribute your support to give our kids the extra help they need to become the exceptional people we know they can be!
