The first annual Jingle Market took place November 28 and 29 at the Plaid Moose.
The event was began with a group of friends who wanted to start something special in the community. Members of the “Stocking Stuffers” are Lynn Pabst, Shari Levesque, Shelly Onken and Elizabeth Mitchell.
The purpose of the Jingle Market was to provide children and people of all ages an opportunity to do some holiday shopping at prices everyone could afford. The Stocking Stuffers were able to help the children shop for and wrap presents, along with helping them create some personalized items.
The items were hand crafted by Lynn, Shari, Shelly and Elizabeth or were from donations made by some very generous individuals.
Some of the funds raised by the event will go to provide holiday meals for a couple of families in need.
Thanks to The Grain Exchange, The Backyard Bar and Grill and Key Largo, the group was also able to have a drawing for all of the shoppers and drew seven names. The restaurants listed will provide a meal for four people for the lucky winners.
The Stocking Stuffers had so much fun that they plan to make the Jingle Market an annual event!
They offered a special thank you to Pete and Krista Beerman of The Plaid Moose for hosting the event at their coffee shop, for all of the people who made donations (they will be collecting year round for those who want to donate new items for next years event), to the restaurants donating the meals and to all who came and shopped.
