Hello to the Murray County & Slayton area! I am pleased to be joining the awesome Wheel-Herald team and I enthusiastically look forward to serving in a variety of capacities in and around the community.

I have spent the past 15 years working in the newspaper business — 12 years at the Marshall Independent and 3 years at the Balaton Press Tribune — and I am excited to continue in doing something I love here at the Wheel-Herald. I wholeheartedly have a passion for making connections with people and helping to document history, whether it’s through writing feature stories, covering events, shooting photos or working with advertisers.

I’m eager to learn more about the people and places here, though I already know without a doubt that there are a lot of great stories waiting to be told. So, please feel free to reach out if you’re ready to share a story or have an exciting news tip.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, photography, working on family genealogy, playing cards and games, doing puzzles and spending time with family, including four (step) grandchildren. I especially love animals, which includes my two spoiled cats named Leo and Luna, as well as local sports. My husband and I also raise fainting goats and alpacas on our hobby farm.
