HISTORICAL SOCIETY ANNOUNCES FRONT PORCH MUSIC CONCERTS LINEUP

The Murray County Historical Society invites the public to attend its free Front Porch Music Series concerts. This year, we’re offering four concerts; one in Currie and three in Slayton. For the first time, the Historical Society will be partnering with End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum in Currie (address: 440 North Mill Street) to host a bonus concert in honor of the park’s 50th anniversary. The Slayton concerts will be held at the historic Dinehart Holt House at 2812 Linden Avenue. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Free refreshments will be available. Each concert begins at 7pm and will feature the following performances:

Thursday, July 21 (in Currie): The Double Down Daredevils, a Minnesota based Bluegrass and Americana band.

Thursday, July 28: The Fulda Area Big Band, a local musical group playing an ensemble of jazz music and classic tunes.

Thursday, August 4: Starfire Rocks, a 1950s and 1960s Rock and Roll cover band.

Thursday, August 11: Kayla Daniels, a Minnesota native Nashville solo recording artist.

Funding for these concerts was provided by a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council made possible by an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State’s general fund. The Southwest Minnesota Arts Council is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting and encouraging the development of the arts in the 18 counties of southwestern Minnesota.
