GREEN THUMB

There seems to be two usual conversations going on nearly continually: politics and weather. In the weather we have had considerable days when rain was strongly predicted and all we got was a small sprinkle.

The rain the other night was quite appreciated but would have been more appreciated when the crops were still growing. As for our gardenimg this is the time of the year when the fall seed catalogues show up.

The idea is to get trees and shrubs planted early enough so the roots can get a good start before freezeup.

Otherwise, we’ve already mentioned in past columns gathering this year’s produce and storing it usually in the basement for use during the winter.

And checking Farmers Markets for what you might need but are short on. And then there’s Halloween coming up too.
