By Arnold Krusemark It is now mid-September. The garden is doing ok. But a bit dry.
Another big event passed this week - the first day of Autumn That is when the amount of daylight and darkness are equal. And so the days are continuing to get shorter.
Otherwise, the weather is cooling off. We might have about 45 days left to finish our gardening and yard work before Winter unofficially comes. And probably sometime in September we switch the house from A/C to furnace. Maybe better be sure we have enough fuel oil. And maybe schedule a furnace service.
And sometime in November the first snow flurries arrive. Sometimes we’ve looked forward to the first snow and sometimes not.
For now, its time to finish our garden and yard work before cold weather does arrive.
Now is time to finish plans and get the work done before too late.
We still see seeds (vegetable and otherwise ) for sale in Slayton.
So far no Christmas trees have shown up for sale (real trees that is) but they will come. In the meantime one yard chore is to keep
