With the temperature outside barely above freezing it is still time to make plans for this year’s yard and garden. In the past years we have mentioned selecting flowers which will give us flowers through the summer - early flowers now and late flowers through freeze-up. Then decide where to plant so it looks like we have continuing flowers.
The same philosophy counts for our garden vegetables. This means we have one section of the garden for veggies which will take all summer to grow and other sections which grow edibles rather fast. The idea is to have fresh vegetables all summer. This will take several plantings. Each planting will probably have radishes rather early. Then choose plants which will be ready to pick and eat within probably 60 days (lettuce, for example). This will give you fresh produce from early on until freeze-up.
This will give you time to plan
