GREEN THUMB

September is ending this week-end. And then October with its shortening days and cooler temperatures. So far nothing below freezing except in the refrigerator.

Our Fall work continues. One thing to be done after cleaning out the basement storage area is to make mental note of how much storage area we will need for the garden produce to be kept inside until needed for meals and otherwise.

We mention this because of the various farmers markets where we can purchase pump- needed. There seem to be quite a few area market gardens which have items for purchase to store until they make delicious meals. Along with that is the second garden you may have planted which by now should have more than just radishes. And more will come shortly. We should have some lettuce for dinner salads and other things.

Another chore inside the house will be to check out our winter clothing wear. What needs cleaning, repairs, or simply replacing. And then checking for sales for what needs replacing or repairs. And much more. Now to get it done before the last minute. Back inside, don’t forget to water your house plants too.

Until next week.
