July is about done and another month has passed. And our garden work continues but mostly waiting - for the produce to grow and then feed us. Some things still need doing - other than hoeing the weeds. In past years columns we’ve talked about starting a second garden. More about that in future columns.
The big event of August will be the county fairs in the area We’ve already discussed area gardeners exhibiting their garden produce at the fairs.
And then we still deal with what our gardens are producing. Some produce helps with our meals now. With some being stored for use during the winter months.
With summer progressing, its time to work on some plans to what needs to be done - garden and yard before cold weather arrives. More about that in weeks to come too. Some work needs to be done now - especially planning and then the work done before the days get too short for much progress.
